Pisciottano Files to Appear on April Ballot, Announces Additional Endorsements

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Allegheny County, PA -- Today, state Representative Nick Pisciottano (D-West Mifflin) filed his nomination petition for State Senate, becoming one of the first Pennsylvania State Senate candidates to earn their spot on the April Primary Election ballot. Candidates must submit petitions featuring the signatures of over 500 registered Democrats in the district to qualify as a candidate for State Senate.

Pisciottano also announced his campaign has earned the endorsement of Unions speaking for over 50,000 Western Pennsylvania workers and working families.

“I’m extremely grateful and honored by the outpouring of support since I started this campaign for state Senate.” Pisciottano said. “These are men and women who’ve dedicated their lives to making our communities a better place, and I pledge to live up to this trust, especially when it comes to standing strong for Union jobs and building an economy that works for all of us.”

Since announcing his candidacy on January 11, Pisciottano has picked up additional endorsements to go along with the dozens of organizations and elected officials from every corner of the commonwealth, including:

  • Unanimously endorsed by all 19 trade crafts on the Pittsburgh Regional Building Trades Council, collectively representing more than 60,000 workers in Southwestern Pennsylvania and acting with a unified voice to create high-quality, family sustaining jobs throughout the region.

  • Endorsed by the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters representing more than 39,000 highly-skilled tradespersons in 6 states including Pennsylvania.

  • Endorsed by local mayors of communities in the 45th Senatorial District: Mayor Michael Cherepko of the City of McKeesport, Mayor David Depretis of Baldwin Borough, and Mayor Chris Kelly of West Mifflin Borough.

  • Endorsed by the University of Pittsburgh College Democrats and Steel City Stonewall Democrats

“I’ve been proud to work with these leaders during my time in the legislature, and I’m ready to work with them to take the next step and deliver a brighter future for all of us in Allegheny County.”
